DPR's collaborative design/build approach clearly identifies the goals of the customer and incorporates them into the project design and delivery. We begin the start-up commissioning and close-out process during preconstruction, constantly looking ahead to maximize constructability and expedite completion. DPR's ability to offer detailed budgeting and schedule information, as well as mechanical and electrical system analysis, also plays a critical role in delivering the facility on time and within budget.

  • Design/Build - DPR directs the design/build effort, offering customers a single point of contact and up-front collaboration to shorten schedules and control costs.
  • Site Selection/Building Evaluation - Assembling site-specific information quickly and accurately is key. Working with owners, DPR evaluates the requirements of potential sites and quantifies cost and schedule issues.
  • Procurement and Coordination of Long-Lead Items - DPR leverages its buying power and utilizes tracking mechanisms to procure and coordinate the arrival and installation of crucial equipment and systems, such as generators, HVAC equipment, switch gear, and UPS or CPS power systems.
  • City Permitting - Maintaining strong relationships with municipalities and government agencies, DPR knows all the steps necessary to bring the project through the approval stage, including fieldwork inspections and Final Occupancy Permit requirements.
  • Electrical and Mechanical Trades - The selection begins as early as possible, involving mechanical and electrical in project preplanning to review design, analyze constructibility issues and schedule manpower.
  • Availability of Permanent Power - DPR actively works with utilities, providing drawings of actual field conditions to help the utility and design team make initial commitments on power source location and conduit routing.
  • System Start-up and Commissioning - Before equipment delivery and during installation, our in-house MEP experts conduct a detailed survey and punch list each system before start-up. When commissioning equipment, we provide comprehensive turnover documentation and conduct training sessions for ongoing operations and maintenance.
